Research: Exploring Opportunities and Best Practices in Immersive Tourism

This activity focuses on uncovering the latest trends, skills needs, and best practices in immersive tourism. Through desk research and interviews with industry stakeholders, we identify key opportunities for integrating technologies like VR, AR, and AI into tourism practices. The results include a detailed research report and a compendium of case studies, providing VET providers and tourism SMEs with the knowledge to craft innovative, immersive experiences. By sharing insights with educators, professionals, and learners, we aim to build a more digitally prepared and sustainable tourism industry.

Immersive Workshops: Bringing Film and Literary Tourism to Life

Designed for hands-on learning, these workshops equip tourism businesses and professionals with practical skills in immersive technologies like AR, VR, and XR. Participants gain direct experience in creating engaging visitor experiences and storytelling. Hosted in Iceland, Lithuania, Ireland, and Slovenia, the workshops will produce video lessons and resources to reach a wider audience. By involving VET students, recent graduates, and industry professionals, this activity bridges the gap between theory and practice, ensuring the next generation of tourism leaders is ready to innovate.
